Judah’s Journey
Judah's journey is the polar opposite of Joseph's. He chooses to walk away from God, to attempt to escape His reach and live as if God is NOT with him. His choices lead to breakdown in every way imaginable -- morally, ethically, in his family and in his relationships. But one thing cannot be broken: God's grip on your life. His love will breakthrough, even for Judahs. Check out this week's message from Genesis 38.
Providence in the Palace
Do you live as if God is as providentially present with you in the palaces of life as He in the pits? Believers know that God is with them, purposefully directing their every step whether life is in a desperate place or all is well. And that means, like Joseph, we live to make Him known wherever He places us. Check out this week's message from Genesis 41.
In The Waiting
Seasons of waiting can feel like such a waste. A waste of time, a wasteland of unknowns and unclear next steps. But if God is the sustainer and ruler of every thing and every moment, then He never wastes a wait. Joseph's experience in Genesis 40 invites us to wrestle with how we wait as those who believe that God is with us, even in the waiting.
Problem of Providence
Providence, the power of God to sustain and rule all of creation down to the last molecule, is both a promise and a problem. The fact that He is near enough to hold us with His right hand is comforting; the fact that He permits pain can be confusing. In this week's message from Genesis 39, Pastor Kelly invites us to acknowledge the problem and see the magnitude of the promise.
Truth in Temptation
Repeatedly we are told one truth, one life-altering, sanity-giving truth that defines Joseph's reality whether in the palace or the pit: God is with him. And that simple statement utterly transforms how we interact with our circumstances, including, as we see in Genesis 39, when they are riddled with temptation.
Promises of Providence
Providence, the power of God to sustain & rule every last molecule of His creation, is a mysterious mercy whether we consider it at a cosmic level or in our own life. Joseph's story, recorded in the end of Genesis, offers us a masterclass in beginning to understand how limitless God's power really is and how intimately He cares for every detail of this life. This week we explore the promises of providence in Genesis 37.
